| Member | It takes always longgggggggggg time to access my forum (http://p4.forumforfree.com/rollermontreal.html) . Then everytime I click on a link on the forum it takes at least 30 seconds to respond. Sometimes I get this error: Unable to connect to database on 'localhost' with user 'p4forum_forums' Please check your settings in multiforums.config.inc.php! Please help. |

| Member ![]() | I know that there's been a lot of complaining about the problems, and I agree with you all in that it's terribly frustrating and leaves us unable to service and administer our forums. With it being a free service, I anticipate some lag time. We have seen flashes of improvement, which suggests that work is being done. However, without any periodic progress assessments, the mood understandably becomes less amicable. My question to the admins is, is the "access to admin page" problem being addressed? This is the only problem for which I have not seen any improvement since we first raised the issue... |

| Junior Forumer ![]() | The FFF servers still have had the same periodic extreme slowdowns and "too many connections" error messages for the past week, no noticeable improvements so far. Are the servers still being worked on and are other solutions being tried? |

| VIP Team | Badboy, I am unable to find the problem on your server. I have been randomly trying to access your forum for a few days now, and it has been running fine for me. Is your board being slow during a specific time of day? Or is this random? Last edited by Attitude; 07-11-2007 at 03:02 PM. |

| Member ![]() | Like badboy, I have spurts of terrible performance (like earlier today) and times where the response is timely. However, at the bottom of the page for admins is a link: Go to Administration Panel This link then takes you to the admin pages, where you set up user groups, add and update forum topics, change the look and feel, etc. For the past several weeks, when I go to this link, instead of going to my admin page, I get directed to the (outdated) FFF home page, which is not at all connected to my forum. Others in this very thread have mentioned this same problem. I don't know if you'd need admin access to actually see the problem or not. In my case, my forum is at http://p4.forumforfree.com/armorbearers.html When I click the admin link, it's supposed to take me to http://p4.forumforfree.com/admin/ind...m=armorbearers (it may also pass along a session ID in the query clause of the URL) It is this link that is not working. I suppose that there is an analogous link for all phpBB forums on FFF. |

| Junior Forumer ![]() | The speed varies greatly thruout the day and evening, like it has done for the past month or more. At times it is good speed and others very slow or gets the "too many connections" errors, fairly random but more than often enough to make it annoying or unusable at times. The servers still have the same periodic issues. Have to check it often at many times during the day and evening. At the moment its working at a decent speed, I'll monitor it often the next few days and try to keep a log of the performance at various times. [Edit: now 30min later its slowed way down again. taking almost 60sec to respond to even simple actions. So still very variable, unpredictable.] Last edited by BadBoy0; 07-12-2007 at 03:55 AM. |

| Junior Forumer ![]() | Update: checking my FFF IBP forum today its not coming up at this time due to slow server again around 3PM PT time. Now at 3:30PM PT it only gives the "too many connections" error when trying to get into the forum. The speed has been variable earlier in the day, but still getting such slow and error periods randomly as in the past few months. It will probably speed up again later today I suspect, but its the variability and unpredictability that makes it unnerving. Any word at all on the work done on the servers recently and trying to find the source of these continuing issues? Last edited by BadBoy0; 07-12-2007 at 04:29 PM. |

| VIP Team | Hi, Yes, we will have to do those servers separately as those are those servers are running under different forum softwares ( IPB ). |
