There is little, if any, reason to have a portal. Portal tends to work well for forums that ain't a part of a website.

There is no reason. Having a portal won't suddenly make me want to post more.

Maybe more activity is what we need.

You all know about the Darwin Awards -- It's an annual honor given to the person who did the gene pool the biggest service by killing themselves in the most extraordinarily stupid way. Last year's winner was the fellow who was killed by a Coke machine which toppled over on top of him while he was attempting to tip a free soda out of it.

What's it supposed to be for?

Honestly, I wish FHQ would go back to just showing all of the topics on the board like it did a few months ago. That was nice. I especially liked to be able to double-click the "New Post" image and it would be marked as read.

What has this world come to?

It does show all the topics, click the All tab.

Also, the fSPY is used for New Posts, and New Threads. It comes up instantly on the fSPY, so I like it. Furthermore, it can make stuff easier to moderate, since there is a preview of the post, and the thread title.

I know about the all tab, but you cant click to make forums marked as "read".

As for fSpy.....I guess that makes sense.

Yes, but you can mark all forums as read.

Or you can use the 'New Posts' feature at the top, and it displays the new topics where posts have been posted since your last visit.

You can not click the forum marker to make that 1 forum read then go on to read the rest like before....
