Since we are upgrading soon enough to phpBB3, I don't believe there will be more updates to the phpBB2 version of Forumer's boards.

Basically, you are trying to make your forum more SEO friendly.

But, I don't think Forumer users are really concentrating on SEO for their forum, but rather their content and activity.

Umm, if your Forum SEO is good, you automatically get better content and activity.

You don't get better content, how does SEO generate content for you?

It will help you in your SERP's (which will get traffic if it is searched) , but you need to target a keyword in order to achieve something and backlinks.
