Default Questions about show off

If you make a thread for your site, you're not supposed to bump it. I have a few questions about this. What are you supposed to do if you forgot to say something? Because you can't edit your post, or make another post...

Also if you made a thread for a forum you're in, but you aren't a admin or even mod at it, does the no bumping rule apply?

Does the no bumping rule apply to members who haven't made the thread?

It's just that here it seems to fit into the "forgot to say something" category...

Yes but it is against the rules.

Its why I take time thinking about anything I want to say before posting.

If you can't edit no more, you can PM a moderator so they can edit your post.
If you made the thread, then the rule applies.

I'm sorry but if you create another post under 30 days that is a violation. No matter if you forgot to mention something or not. Everyone gets one warning. After that warning and another violation occurs the thread will be closed and that forum may not be shown off in another thread. And if the forum changes owners and the new owner wants to show that forum off and the previous owner had their thread closed they can't create a new thread either. This is why people need to read what they type and proof read to check for errors or things left out.

Tough, but I must admit, it does stomp down on bumping.

You could always:
  • Edit the post, if you remember soon enough
  • Pay someone (me?) fBuck$ and tell them to post a reply. (may be best done via. PMs, not sure about dealing with bumps in the fBuck market)
  • Register a new account, if you're a naughty forumer. :P (not reccomended)

If we find out you are paying other people to bump your show-off thread it will be treated in the same manner, and perhaps harsher, as if you had bumped it. Do not try to circumvent Forumer rules. Do not create multiple accounts, this is against Forumer Rules

I have a question. What is bumping?

Is there a difference between bumping and updating?

I ask because it has been 30 days since I created my thread and I want people to know how well it's doing and what things I have added since I first started my thread. I have seen others updating their threads but when I re read the rules, I found it very confusing because updating seemed like bumping.

Could some one elaborate please?

After 30 days from your last post in your Show off topic, you may make one post (so go ahead and make a post). After that post, you must wait another 30 days to post in your topic.

Bumping means posting another post to try and get it noticed. This isn't allowed because when you go to show off your forum you can't post for another 30 days.
Updating or editing posts is ok.
Just don't post another post until the time limit is up in the show off section.

You see..... this is the confusing bit for me

in the rules it says:
Quote:
30 day rule:
You may not reply to your show off thread until 30 days after the last post in the thread. Failure to do so will result in your thread being closed and possibly you will be warned.
I would interpret it as you can only post 30 after ANY post was made in the your thread.......... in other words, the thread was dead for 30 days............ but Pandemix said now that it is 30 days after the last post of the thread starter......... so which one is it?

It's calculated from the last post in the thread, not the user's last post.

Please do not PM me for support.
