| Member ![]() | Well since installing mods isnt possible from user to user. cant limez just add some basic mods. 1) who is online color (more ranks) 2) mods have "activate" and "deactivate" user powers in a mod control panel 3) un-deadminable first admin No. 3 is crucial! other 2..are ok (no. 2 probably wont ever happen!) Post your thoughts on this people p.s. it should be so that no. 3 is automaticalyl enabled (so other admins cant disable) and no. 1 is enabled as well u just have to add the ranks urself. and no. 2 can be enabled if u want |

| Admin ![]() | macroz, what do you mean by: re: un-deadminable have you seen the FAp functionality? it allows the original owner to easily re-gain control of their forum. Doesn't this solve the problem? |

| VIP Team | I think he means somthing like the owner of the board should be demoteable. Meaning, there should be some kind of security to protect the core admin from accidently banning, or demoting themselfs. The FAP, however will get get your admins back to you should you ever do one of those things. |

| Banned User | Limez, I understand that you want topics and posts that will help Forumer, and my edited post did not follow those guidelines. I made my comment based off my observation being a member at this community for almost a year now. Correct me if I wrong, but the only MOD I've seen installed on the phpbb forums that members wanted in the past 9 months is the portal. I've seen features such as the cafepress shop, and domain name, but members constantly request such as cash, and shop MOD, a anti-spambot MOD, online/offline MOD etc etc. I've been directing members to post in the suggestion forum for months now, and noticed no follow up upon their request. If you feel this post is out of line, please let me know, but it's a fact that vetern members will advise new members to go with ipb because of the limited flexibility using your phpBB forums. |

| Admin ![]() | ok HB, we've been doing a lot in the background to keep things working well. we've installed special captchas on the phpBB forums to help decrease the spammers (other hosts are 10 times more buried in spam) We have also created different enhancements: fDomains fAdRemoval fShop fInvites Meta Tags Directory editable from fsettings fPortals FAP I see you still are disappointed in our efforts, because a number phpBB mods have not been installed. In some cases it is a lot trouble to install these mods (especially when it comes to upgrading phpbb versions etc). I have seen some other hosts out there that seem to have one/two of these mods ...but I also notice their forums are a few major versions behind, and in some cases they are not running well. Having said it, if you will create a list of 15 mods, in order of importance and in order of demand and I will put those points on our agenda and will discuss them with our programmers. (some might be immediately eliminated, but some might be justifiable and we might go ahead and develop them). You have to understand that the reason we don't have every hot hack installed is because we have a different setup compared to a single installation of phpbb software. So, many times, even a simple mod might be incompatible with our system. Also, considering that each server hosts thousands of forums, the existing hacks need substantial re-working to be integrated with Forumer. |

| Banned User | Thank you Limez, Actually I'm not disappointed as I've never requested a MOD to be installed here. I know you stay busy with backend procedures, maintenance, advertising and so forth. This is why you may have missed a lot of the topics members have been asking for. I am also well aware of the difficulties in making sure all MODs mate well with each other. The time needed to research the MOD for compatibility, stability, installation time, security, possible server load is over looked by many, but I am aware to run a successful forum host, you can not overlook these avenues. For the most part, the members who are asking for these features are looking for an answer, and not to disrespect the staff, but most of them don't have a clue. The fact is a lot of the members here look up to you, and hopes that you will reply to their request. When you do reply, it shows them that you care about their questions or concerns (we all know you can't reply to everyone). I personally couldn't give you 15 most desired features, but from what I see people have been asking for these: cash shop attachment (a big no no) better spam prevention #1 most requested...backups (paid and not paid) sub-forums (better off waiting to phpbb3) avatar restrictions shoutbox I'm sure others can add to the list. Thank you for listening. ![]() |

| Junior Forumer ![]() | Just a thought on this and don't know if it is a mod, thinking about the spambots... wondering 1. will links on my forumer forum will pick up spambots because I link to them? 2. if so, can I add <no follow> somewhere or is it already added in HTML code for forumer? 3. lastly, this is a good reason to have an option for a global account required before showing in the memberlist of a board... I'm deleting probably 20 at least a day that must be spambots, never an active account etc. |

| Elite Forumer ![]() | This is a one year old thread. Also, @ Limez, is it possible to install a hack or mod that allows phpBB user to change their favicon? |
