Default Disable Auto FAP Registration

I personally feel that the auto registration should be disabled, as when it auto registered you when you make a forum, it does not make you the owner, and therefore you really aren't any wiser if you get demoted by a tyrant admin or a hacker. And when you try registering as the owner you get so much problems with it. So I suggest that it is disabled, and in the email that is sent to new forum owners there is some part that urges them to create it themselves and a detailed explanation on how to do so.

hi Admiral.

the way registrations work now is when user creates a forum, the username/password user chooses will work on:

a) his new forum
b) fap
c) forum.forumer.com

So, let's say the user adds a co-admin, who kicks him out.

The user goes to http://www.forumer.com/fap.php, logs on using his user/pass and re-gains control of his forum.

Where is the problem?

please re-test forum signup/fap etc and comment again on this thread.

I think the main reason Limez, is that it seems a bit confusing. I mean, I have never used it... and people aren't very familure with the FAP. A documentation on how to use this will be nice, too

What will happen if I demoted myself from one of my test forums? Use the FAP to get my admins back? How exactly does that work?

Thanks for your time limez. *

Hmm, well I registered as a co-admin with insideforumer.forumer.com - I filled out all the correct info, pressed submitt, and there were no confirmation screens or anything like that. It page just seemed to load, then went back to that screen again. Now what do I do?

this thread is not about signup as co-admin

this is about automatic registration during new forum signup.

Documentation would probably be a good idea - though it's not too complicated to use. If anyone wants to write up and article on it..

Please do not PM me for support.
