Hello Everybody,

I'd like to say here that enabling the features on all the forums would not be a good idea. This is because if they're enabled on every forum, the relatively new forum admins ( who are administrating a forum for the first time) might get confused. So its better that you get set with your forum's admin panel & then install whatever you want from http://fMods.Com.

So then there should be an "advanced" IPB forum with all the stuff and a n00b forum with all the idiot-proofing installed!

As if adding some of the mods that would give you these features are easier for newbies than to activate these features and have them available? Now that's a riot.

Bumping up the emoticons sizes, allowing for members to choose from multiple skins (I guess the phpBB forums have smarter newbie administrators since multiple skins for members are available there) and activating the Custom Profile Field to at least three choices would either bring down Forumer or be too complicated for administrators so they won't be activated?

1) Whatever feature that is available will either be used or not used by newbie adminstrators at first and hopefully they will get to know how to use the features and how to run their boards or maybe they need to turn over adminstrator rights to someone else.

2) Implementing these three features are not necessarily server intensive.

and lastly,

3) There are no good reasons not to implement these features.

Apologies on bumping an old topic, but I feel it's relevant.

Adding a Board Wrappers feature (on both IPB and phpBB forums) would be a great advancement to forumer. It wouldn't be a hard feature to implement, but it would allow codes from many other services to be imported easily, and make it much easier for mod creators to add special features to the board (like Money hacks, RPG hacks etc that forumer is lacking at the moment).

Some people have mentioned "security concerns" over allowing this, but it'd be simple to combine the ads into <% BOARD %> and the append the copyright to the end of <% FOOTER %>. There aren't any other security concerns that would be otherwise available through the skin templates, or script out-sourcing like we're doing through the skin CSS now in phpBB.

This is definately something worth thinking about, not least that it'd almost double the number of hacks available to forumer instantly. It'd be a great service expansion, at little effort

Your suggestion is a great idea webby, however now we just need to get it implmented. This would help Forumer by leaps and bounds.

Nearly any feature can be re-created through the board wrappers, and although not as efficient as perhaps the real feature would be, at least it's there, and it's user-created so it'd be done quicker...

A few of General ( Most Used ) mods should be made available I think.
You people should start a poll I suggest, to put which mods. The mods for Poll should be selected by the Support Staff, as they have to put them up.

The three suggestions are great!!
In fact I have seen these 3 features on other free hosts..

I am especially eager to have the third one (custom profiles) on my forumer forum.
Please please please please please pretty please install them?? :P

Custom profile fields would meaning having to add new fields in the User CP, modifying the showtopic page, the showuser page, and the admin cp :/

Emoticons i'm sure would be a quick change.

Can't you do multiple skins through the skin templates by adding a javascript skin set changer now in IPB?

There's no extra "load" on board wrappers apart from the extra 20,000 characters worth of diskspace per board, which really isn't that much! (integrated with Skin Templates, i'm sure it'd be less). Nothing extra on the smilies either.
