I was thinking the other day how nice it would be for Site Owners/Admins to have the ability to call on someone within Forumer to admin their forum when they go on vacation.

We have all heard the horror stories of people choosing their "friends" as co-admins to have them stab them in the back. It's becoming a sad continuous story. I thought it would be a great service of Forumer if they could get a group of people who were extremely trustworthy and who could take over admin duties while the site owner/admin of the forum was on vacation.

Just a thought.

Who would appoint the group? I'm not sure how it could/should start. Is this something Forumer needs to start or is it something that can be started by a Support Team member or someone else?

I mean it would have to be strictly controlled and heavy penalties if the temp admin should do anything to damage the forum they are looking after. Maybe deleting their own forum as a penalty.

Of course there are pros and cons. The worst con I can think of is having a temp admin and coming back from vacation to find your forum is gone and you have been banned. That would be the worst case scenario of course. Hence the reason for heavy penalties.

Deleting the forum will be useless mainly due to that not everyones forum is hosted on Forumer.

I guess we can start our own little group

I would be more than happy to join this group.
Lets gear for fProject II.

Anywayz, if this is going to be official, then :-

1) Limez should create a team called "fBackup" or something like that.
2) Every forum installed on Forumer has a fBackup Admin account.
3) When the owner goes on vacation he notifies Forumer.Com & enables fBackup account.
4) The fBackup group members who have less powers than the actual owners come into the picture & take care of the forum.
5) The members of fBackup can also help in installing mods, skins etc & resolving problems to newbies on the Forum scene only when there are not much backup admin requests.
6) just like the fPromoters, the above users get paid for the work they put in.

EDIT: Here's 3 musts to be in the group, if its created.

1. more than 400 posts here at Forumer
2. you admin at least 1 forum that is well established (provide link)
3. you should be well known here at Forumer

No need for fProject II

Maneel, that would be a whole lot of work for limez. It would just be better if some , not a lot, members could manage this. And like creationist said, this can be managed by fProject, no need to make fProject II o_O

I'm thinking the same thing, that's what they are there for is it not? A global moderator along with the other moderators should be able to hold the fort down for a good week or two.
