Mg2, please dont take this the wrong way, kindly stop implying that the fStaff aren't active enough.

I dont know about a chat server, I think the forums are a lot better for support as they give a permanent record of what was going on

Umm, I didn't. I said you can't provide 24/7 support. Was I incorrect?

Wow....

There are the negatives and the positives here. The negitaves are that Team Speak is basicly meant for online gameing, and it would cost $$ to keep running. I doubt that the staff would spend their money to purchase 20 dollar mics. That's just me, though. The positives are that it may be usfull for forumer, BUT, I highly doubt it. TS, is like Skype basicly, but, TS can hold more people in an conference.

I agree with what attitude said, however, most people already have mics with their computer.

No, actually...

I think IRC would be a better idea. (Internet Relay Chat) because there are many IRC networks and anyone can setup a channel/chatroom for Forumer and it can give people moderation privillages to kick or ban people from the chatroom/channel.

Good part is Forumer wouldn't have to get it's own teamspeak server and can just use an existing IRC server but create its own chatroom/channel.

IRC really isn't a bad idea. It's my experience that a lot of the help/support channels there have everyone set to NOT be able to talk upon entrance - you gotta wait until you receive +voice to ask your question and then a mod can PM you and fix your problem there rather than in the main chat window. If a problem like what we had this last weekend happens again, a message can be triggered to automatically hit the IRC channel at regular intervals - like "Forumer is aware of the <blank> issue and technicians are currently working on solving the problem. Please be patient." You get the idea. That would give people a sense of an immediate reply.

And once a channel has the X bot (that's the one I'm most familiar with on the Undernet IRC network), it really doesn't HAVE to be monitored 24/7 by a staff member.

I am familiar with Teamspeak to a certain degree and can just hear 400 people all clamoring for an explanation to a problem/bug/issue at once ...neat idea, but imho, I just don't think it's feasible.

We already have all those.

@ Stylus
Good & Idea but I'd like to point out a flaw. Some Moderator's sig here reads "Dont PM me for support, post in the appropiate support forums so that everyone can benifit." Same way lets leave support to Support Forums so that Everyone can benifit.

Thanks & Regards
Maneel
