Default Suggestion for FAP

After many forums have supposively been hacked, the forums posts/topics/categories etc. have been deleted.

It would be good if FAP could have another feature - forum restore. Like system restore on a computer, it takes the forum back to a time specified. Although any members or posts added after that time will be lost, it will be better than the whole forum lost.

You could set it so a weekly backup was used, so they could revert back to every Friday say...

I believe this will be a valuable addition, as although an admin may be able to get back in charge, all of the members/posts etc. may of had been delted by the hacker.... And will take a lot of work to rebuild, just as much as starting from scratch....

Most forums only lost all the members, but most posts are still intact.

At Puddles, register there, and everything is still there.. mostly..

That was lucky, however, at Rapid Kid's forum he lost all categories/forums/threads etc.

Does Forumer have the storage to make backups of all of the forums?

It already does, but doesn't make them available to users.

Thanks for all the support guys!

This sounds like a pretty cool idea.
I'm not sure what kind of strain this could put on servers though.
Thanks for the suggestion Rando, we'll see what Limez thinks I guess.

stylus

If I hear the words "server" and "strain" in the same sentence ever again, I seriously think I could explode!

Limez already has backups, he just doesn't have them available to the public! I think Forumer should make some sort of backup system, and you could download a backup with some fbuck$..
