I doubt your members would be happy with that. If members are plotting something and PM's are able to be read by Admins, don't you think they would just switch to using their private e-mails? You can't always stop everything bad that comes your way, and in trying to do so with the PM system, you're just going to lose members and waste your own time reading through peoples private messages.

if you did put it on you wouldn't tell your users.

on my non forumer forum I have the PM logs mod installed, but I only use it when I need to, I don't pry into other people's PM's.

But yeah, on many forums i've traded things like paid cd-keys for games, passwords and many other things. So I just trust that the admin isn't trying to steal those kind of things.

I say only forum owners can view them and the person is automaticly notifyed by e-mail whenever the PM's are read. If you want to see pm's that badly then you can change their password and notify them. It could save forums. Think about it.
