Most of you seem a little bit strict, which I know ensures order, but I suggest that you lower that level a notch or two when it comes to the General Chat area, because sometimes it's scary to make a new topic and you see that a staff member is looking at the same topic you just made.

No offense, of course.

(The whole point of General Chat is to chat, and locking topics when you could very easily delete the spam just seems a wasting of a topic..)

I think what they are doing is fine, they could even tighten it on the non direct advertising threads i've seen sometimes.

What would work is a spam area where we can play forum games post lots of random stuff, where our post count wouldn't get raised.

Yeah, if Forumer had that, there would be a LOT more activity.

I suggest letting it INCREASE post count, but NOT touching your points. I have that on the staff lounge at Mark Forums. Staff gets the posts, but not the Mbuck$

Well that would work except people would get senior forumer etc too easily.

Then increase what you need to get there.

I don't know why Forumer is so focused on people NOT getting a higher POST COUNT for POSTING.

Good idea about the spam forum. Although it would to be that it did NOT raise your post count.

Also the forumer staff do a great job as they are, strict is good! Stops trouble.

I take your point about they could delete individual posts instead of close the threads. But overall they are great!

Mark,

Just saying that the staff are good here doesnt count as sucking up to them mark, they do do a good job here. Something tells me you would be singing to a different tune if you were on the staff team
