Just a suggestion.. For those that do not take the time to read the rules (that are clearly posted) in regards to the show off thread.. why do you just close the thread? I say remove it from view all together. Those of us that DO follow the rules have show off threads buried 6 pages back due to the constant posting of those that simply refuse to read the rules.. Heck even after people post in their threads.. "dont post for 30 days" they post.. "ok I wont" lol... and yet THESE "topic closed" posts remain on the first pages of the showoff thread.

ok I just had to use this new emotion.... Anyone else feel that post should be removed.. not just closed?

Users might think that it has been some sort of mistake and posts again?

At my forum (Mark Forums) we have a different system! When a thread is bumped before 30 days, this is what is done:

1] Link IMMEDIATELY [removed]
2] Moderator replies with WHY it was locked
3] Topic is locked
4] Topic title edited to have: [PENDING TRASH] in the front
5] 24 hours later, the topic is trashed

That way the user is aware, and the thread is eventually "digested" [IMG]http://www.**********.com/style_emoticons/default/shifty.gif[/IMG]

However, Mark Forums doesn't get nearly as many posts here, and compared to the sizes.. Mark Forums is about 10x more staffed than this forum, and it only has 2 people with mod powers! [IMG]http://www.**********.com/style_emoticons/default/ermm.gif[/IMG]
