Buying forum?

Ok, I am not sure if I am posting this on the right place so you may send it to the right one if needed.

Members of my forum are asking if we can buy our own domain (we can, I know that) and "buy" our forum or pay for hosting it on Forumer but to have full functional phpbb version of forum?

In other words, is it possible to pay for our forum and have it the way we want, without banners, with full control, with option to get forum backup base etc?

If that is possible how much it will cost?

Not possible, your forum will always be situated on forumers servers.

Just to clarify, Forumer does not offer any kind of premium hosting. We are a free forum host and that's not going to change anytime soon, though things such as ad removal and domains can be purchased and used with your forum. In addition, there is no way to transfer your forum from Forumer's services to another service, as databases are not available for download.

I thought that you may have an option for paid hosting where users who want full control may pay and enjoy it any way they want.
Also, I was thinking of hosting forum on forumer's server, the same place where is now, just with premium kind of hosting, more options and more control over it, if you understand what I mean.

I understand what you're saying, but no such service exists.

Here's an interesting idea Limez may want to look at. If Forumer would like to make a lot more money, he may want to at least check this out:

Charge users $100 for the software if they want to run it on their server, but have the old branding. Charge maybe another $100 to remove the branding. Also give the users the option of having there own ads for $10/month.

This would also really help reduce server overload.

If users want to keep it on forumers server have the option of removing branding for $100 and keep your ads on the site.

That would put you guys way above any other forum host out there. You guys want to build a bigger and better company, that would be the way to go.

IPB and phpBB were not created by Forumer, and thus the "software" could not be sold to users, not to mention that if the files were on the user's server, Forumer would have no control over the branding/ads.

right. so winnopeg, is forumer just like renting this service? or what, because you guys can't sell these forums to people completely

Forumer is a free forum host, so it hosts these scripts for free for users.
