My Forumer
My Country:
Default Keeping it all to myself, but still using Forumer (domain)

Could not think of the right title... so heres a preset of what I would like to achieve:
  • I have my own domain www.terminatorfiles.com
  • I do NOT want to move it to any other registrar (I have everything I need with the current hosting and registrar provider, which aint that hard, since I work there for several years.)
  • I DO HOWEVER want to link towards a 'masked' area, which looks as if it was hosted at my own domain.
At the moment I have a IPB board at the Forumer URL http://termfiles.2.forumer.com and set up my own GUI and URL through the following frameset: http://www.terminatorfiles.com/forum.

However: when I have an article on my main site about something that is happening at the forum, it is (yet) impossible to directly link towards the topic at hand WITHIN the preset http://www.terminatorfiles.com/forum frameset.

I've not yet tryed to facilitate it with some PHP coding, so possible urls would be http://www.terminatorfiles.com/forum...umer-topic.htm (this is not a working link). I would then change the frameset within the subdirectory into a dynamicly generated one, with which the reload page reloads the direct link towards the specific topic.

But first and foremost, I would like to see if it is possible to 'cloak', 'mask' or whatever else the great people of Forumer come up with, to resolve this problem (first ask about some solution, and then look at my own developments). Then I can keep running the best site about Terminator (soon to be re-released in v3) and focus on other problems/designs/developments at hand.

I hope the above is clear enough to understand, and to see some replies about whats possible or whats not. At best the Forumer Staff can reply to me through my emailaddress, which should be known by them through my registration (since I do not visit these support forums that much).

Hope to hear from you soon.

I'll be back

I finally figured out how to do it using godaddy. I went into the "DNS Manager." Then I edited the "A" Host. I changed the settings to:
Host: @
Points To: 70.84.102.xxx

I then completed step 2 under "domain setup" in the AdminCP of my forum by adding the domain name and "selecting" it.

Pow!! It worked perfectly.
