Default Re: Does IPB has rss feed or subscription to new topics?

OK so now I have tried it out and I can tell you exactly how it works:

If you subscribe to a forum (as I mentioned if you have more forums on the board you have to subscribe to them one by one) you will get an email every time some one posts a new topic:
Quote:
Yourusername,

memberusername has just posted a new topic entitled "Topic title" in forum "Forum name!".

The topic can be found here:
http://forumname.#.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=1083

Please note that if you wish to get email notification of any replies to this topic, you will have to click on the
"Track this Topic" link shown on the topic page, or by visiting the link below:
http://forumname.#.forumer.com/index...ack&f=1&t=1083
So as you can see, to get a notification about each post you will need to track the topic then you will get this:
Quote:
Yourusername,

Memberusername has just posted a reply to a topic that you have subscribed to titled "Topic title".

The topic can be found here:
http://forumname.#.forumer.com/index...iew=getnewpost

There may be more replies to this topic, but only 1 email is sent per board visit for each subscribed topic. This is
to limit the amount of mail that is sent to your inbox.
I'm sorry if I let you think something else in my previous reply, I haven't tried the feature before.

As you can see you will not get the post content in your email. Maybe it's possible to have a mod made but you would need to ask (request a mod) at fMods.

USEFUL TIP: If your support request gets resolved, click on THREAD TOOLS > MARK THIS THREAD AS SOLVED. This will mark the thread RESOLVED and will close the thread. (please use this tip!)

Please do not PM/e-mail me for support unless I ask you to.
Do a search and if you don't find your answer create a thread with your question and I will be happy to help. I can not be replying the same answer over and over in an e-mail/PM. Thanks.
