| Chat Feature Ok, I've done a Search and have tried my hardest to add the chat room to my fourm. But can't. I tried to follow what other people had posted before and just got lost have way through. So this is what I have done so far.
Yes, Html is turned on! I've checked and rechecked many of times to make sure it is.
When I signed up for everywherechat.com it gave me this: Thank you for creating a chat room with EveryWhereChat.com. Below you will find your chat room code to cut and paste to your website. You will also find a link that you can use to just create a link to your chat room. If you have any questions please email brodle@eveywherechat.com or visit us by clicking here. EverywhereChat and its services are free but if you would like to make a donation use the button below
! The Code below should be pasted on one line. If the javascript is broken up just remove the spaces.!
<!-- Begin Chat Code Here -->
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"src="http://irc.everywherechat.com:8000/Java/e.js?room=Chat_Now&width=520&ads=true&height=500&roomstab=false&fontsize=12¶mfilename=embedded.prm"></script>
<!-- End Chat Code -->
Additional Information:
You can link directly to your chat room by using http://irc.everywherechat.com:8000/?...e=embedded.prm
To display the number of user in your chat room use this code below:
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"src="http://www.everywherechat.com/users.asp?room=Chat_Now"></script>
To display a list of users in your chat room use this code:
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"src="http://www.everywherechat.com/members.asp?room=Chat_Now"></script>
Instructions: After you have copied the code to your site follow the instrutions below to register your chat room
Load the webpage that you pasted your chat room code on.
Sign on to the chat room with a nickname you want to use ( some names may be taken)
After loading your chat room, double click on your name in the right list to register it.
Now that your name is registered you can click the room option button located in the top left of chat chat interface to register your room
Your room is now registered, use the room option button to add moderators or change settings.
Your members can also access your chat room with any IRC client ( mIRC, pIRC, ircZ, Ircle etc.) The server address is irc.everywherechat.com port 7000 or 6667
Now I took that first part, deleted the spaces so it looked like this: <!-- Begin Chat Code Here --><script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"src="http://irc.everywherechat.com:8000/Java/e.js?room=Chat_Now&width=520&ads=true&height=500&roomstab=false&fontsize=12¶mfilename=embedded.prm"></script><!-- End Chat Code -->
I created the forum and in the description added the Chat Code. I locked the forum and hit the submit button, waited about 2 min for my site to load, and nothing!
Is there something I'm missing?
I have thought about the shoutbox but it has become more of a general consensis on my forum that no one is really thrilled with the idea of adding a shoutbox, they want live chat
